What are Timbeter features and how they bring benefits to the forestry industry
Timbeter users already know that technology integrated into forestry brings several benefits to their industrial activities and processes. According to our customers, increased productivity, together with sustainable management practices, are an inevitable part of development in the sector, which is increasingly in demand and is constantly in need of optimization.

Among some of the benefits offered by Timbeter, we can highlight the speed with which the measurements of wood logs in piles or trucks are made, in addition to the reduction of human error, better safety at work and digital data that are easily shared. When we talk about benefits, we also can mention the features that Timbeter has and that help the forestry sector, as a whole, to get ahead in terms of digital transformation. These tools are adapted to the different forestry subsectors and also to the different stages within the production chain, facilitating processes and creating a simpler environment in terms of management.

Timbeter’s mobile application and Web Storage Module functionalities are divided into two parts: basic features and advanced features. For starters, we will talk a little more about which basic tools are already available to users when they download Timbeter and start using it in piles and trucks:

Diameter, contour, truck and density measurements – these are the types of measurements that can be made with Timbeter’s mobile application for smartphones and tablets. With these tools, the user will be able to obtain data on log diameters according to different formulas, log count, pile and truck volume, pile density coefficient, pile location via GPS and average diameters and volumes, all in digital format. This data is easily shareable and can be used in different parts of the production process in the supply chain.

Web Storage Module – Timbeter’s web module is available through a browser and allows users of the solution to obtain data from measurements made in the field in real time, with an interface that allows editing data, adding custom information and sharing the results.

Panorama mode – Timbeter team knows that no two piles are the same, so panorama mode is ideal for companies that have very large piles of logs to be measured, in a mosaic format that allows even very large piles to be measured with multiple mosaic-based measurements at once.

Defect marking – Defect marking is a necessary process when measuring logs and shows objectively how much loss a company can expect, whether due to incorrect size, different reasons for rejecting logs or other related issues to the inadequacy of the product. With Timbeter’s defect marking tool, in addition to these defects being marked digitally, the results also show the volume of defects and give the user a more detailed view of the material being measured and which may or may not be transferred to the next step in the supply chain.

Calibration tool – is the basic features most used by users who need to measure logs on uneven terrain, such as ravines and valleys. Calibrating the device allows users to change the shooting angle and ensures that the measurement is made correctly, according to Timbeter’s standards.

After a brief introduction about the basic features of Timbeter, our solution also offers advanced features, specially made for different use cases, such as for pulp and paper companies, sawmills and companies that use firewood as an energy resource, in addition to truck drivers transporting wood logs and companies buying and selling wood:

Loading tool – this special feature allows the user to check, while still in the pile, which is the exact amount and which logs can be loaded onto the truck.

Diameter profiles – by using the diameter profiles feature, the user will be able to check different groups of wood log diameters according to custom parameters. This special functionality is essential to categorize different diameters and use them in the most efficient way.

QR code detection and QR code reference – these features are related to the use of QR codes on wood logs allowing the user to add personalized data through codes that can be detected and read through Timbeter. With QR codes, it is also possible to replace the physical reference used to take measurements with our solution.

Minimum Diameter Detection – this feature allows Timbeter to detect the minimum diameters in a pile automatically, facilitating measurements according to the chosen formula.

Custom Fields – this feature allows you to create customizable fields for additional data needed by the measurement process. All company information can be easily identified in these fields.

Pile Heights and Truck Heights – this is a feature that helps identify the heights in a pile in the Contour or Truck measurement according to the scale preferred by the user.

Panoramic portrait – for very tall piles, the panoramic portrait function helps users get a better view of the piles in Timbeter’s panorama function.

Duplicate pile detection – through Timbeter’s Storage Module, piles or parts of a pile that have been measured more than once are easily identified, giving users better control over production and preventing volumes from being falsely added to reports and inventories.

Random validation – validation happens manually by a user on a pile chosen at random by Timbeter. With this, a better control of the production can be done.

Manual measurement – users can add measurements made manually in Timbeter, so that the results are added to reports made with our solution.

Excel reports – the results of measurements made with Timbeter can be easily downloaded in Excel format, allowing companies to compile data.

Log volume – with this feature, the individual volumes of wood logs can be measured, according to the company’s needs.

Inventories – Timbeter’s inventories offer companies the possibility to control incoming and outgoing volumes, avoiding production bottlenecks and bringing efficiency to operations.

API Integration – With Timbeter’s API, companies can easily integrate the solution into existing internal database and ERP systems, such as SAP.
